Supplement total CH-50

The complement system consists of a complex network of several plasma proteins that interact with each other and cell surface proteins. Upon proteolytic activation, an enzymatic cascade is propagated, resulting in recruitment of inflammatory cells, amplification of their phagocytic capacity, and formation of membrane attack complexes that promote lysis of microbes.

The reference ranges for total complement (total hemolytic complement: CH50[CH100]), complement C3, and complement C4 are listed below.

The reference range of serum C3 levels vary by sex, as follows:

  • Males: 88-252 mg/dL
  • Females: 88-206 mg/dL

The reference range of serum C4 levels also vary by sex, as follows:

  • Males: 12-72 mg/dL
  • Females: 13-75 mg/dL
  • Sample of blood serum
  • We perform the test daily
